Getting granular, the link below leads to a FAQ publication from the DMWW that itself contains a link to a map identifying all homes in Des Moines and environs thought to likely have a lead service line. Also a link that enables you to look up your personal address to see if your home is specifically identified (or not). And there is a phone number (515-283-8700) you can call to request tap water testing which, if you are on the list, is free; otherwise, $18.00, about the same as radon testing.
